Senior Professionals Seminar-Cathleen Lawler

The Senior Professionals Seminar for Tuesday, March 3 (2:30 p.m. in SCC 103) will feature Cathleen Lawler on  "Church Collaboration for City Transformation" with an introduction by
Randy White, Director of the Center for Community Transformation at FPU Seminary. FPU faculty and staff are invited to attend.

Cathleen’s passion is to connect God’s resources with Kingdom opportunities around the world.  Her interest in missions began in 1988 when she took her first short-term missions trip to Guatemala.  As a development consultant and trainer, Cathleen continues to travel extensively.  In 2014, personal exploration and professional opportunities took her to nineteen countries.

It was during three years of study at Mennonite Brethren Biblical Seminary that she was challenged with the concept of community. Cathleen's focus gained more balance with attention to local ministry rather than just global.  This led her to write her doctoral dissertation on “Church Collaboration for City Transformation” focusing on her own City of Clovis, California.  The research was eye opening for her as well as many others.

As a member of the Fellow’s Society of the Center for Community Transformation at Fresno Pacific Biblical Seminary, Cathleen continues her church collaboration efforts in the City of Clovis.  Her heart still beats for the whole globe though as she truly believes the Church is the hope for the world.
