Announcement from the President

Dear FPU Community, It is with mixed feelings that I share some news regarding a change that will be taking place within the administration at the regional centers. Many of you know Cindy Steele, our Regional Center Executive Director, who has been with the university for 11.5 years. She has overseen the opening and subsequent expansion of each of our four centers, in addition to sharing the interim Vice President of Enrollment responsibilities with Jon Endicott over the past 10 months, and has served this university selflessly. Cindy’s husband, Mark, has recently accepted a new position requiring him to travel extensively. That—in addition to caring for parents who live many hours away, and finishing up her doctoral program—has caused Cindy to rethink her many responsibilities at FPU.
In her own words to her regional center staffs, “I have made the difficult decision to step back from my full-time position at FPU.  This change will take place in mid-September; and I will be working with the university to ensure a smooth transition. Each area within the regional team has solid leadership and competent staff, and is in an excellent position to move forward with the new strategic initiatives in your communities. It has been an honor to co-labor with you. I believe God has great plans for Fresno Pacific, and will continue to use your efforts as a vital part in furthering the mission and vision of this institution.”
Cindy has been a blessing to Fresno Pacific in numerous ways, and will be greatly missed! However, I am so pleased that she is able to take this time to spend with her husband and family, and to complete her doctorate. There will be more news on plans to celebrate, as a university community, with Cindy before she begins this new chapter in her life. In the meantime, please keep Cindy in your prayers as she finishes her important work at FPU.
