Changes at the School of Education

Friends –

Please join me in extending best wishes to Dr. Donna Martin, who will retire from the university at the end of this academic year. Donna has been a valuable member of the FPU faculty and provided leadership to the Special Education program in Visalia for seven years.  She will be missed by students and colleagues alike!

In her retirement letter, Donna wrote:

Working at Fresno Pacific has been a blessing and I have appreciated the opportunity to serve.  I treasure the relationships I have built, and I have learned so much from others in ways I had not anticipated.  If this job had not required a doctorate, I would never done it.  Frankly, one reason I pushed myself to complete it was, so I could prove to myself that I could do it despite life’s challenges. I did it!. . . I guess it is time to look ahead to what God has in store for me.  The possibilities are endless.  Although I will be resigning from my position as the Visalia Program Director, I want to continue to mentor students out of the Fresno Campus.

Donna recently sold her Visalia home and she and her husband will move to Shaver Lake full-time in June.  An outdoors enthusiast, we see a future filled with hiking, skiing, and breathing fresh mountain air – and an occasional trip to Fresno to replenish supplies and mentor students.

Blessings, Donna, the best is yet to come!
