Senior Professionals Announcement 1/22

The Senior Professionals seminar for next week Tuesday, January 22 (2-4 p.m. in SCC 103), features Linda Hoff on“Education: The Changing Landscapes in Schools.”

Teacher education is the first and continuing premier professional training program of Fresno Pacific University dating back to the 1960s. The School of Education currently offers a broad array of teaching credentials as well as masters degrees. Hundreds of credentialed graduates have found their way into both public and private schools of our valley and beyond. Even during cyclical periods when demand has been low, placement of FPU graduates has always remained high, attesting to the quality of the program.

In this session, Linda Hoff, head of the Teacher Education Division, will share her thirty-year story at FPU and talk about the changes in schools that continue to challenge us. She will close her talk with how the understanding of teaching as a call to redemptive service has anchored the program over the years.

Linda earned her bachelor’s degree at Occidental College, her masters at Fresno Pacific, and Ph.D. at Claremont Graduate University.
