Congratulations to Rebecca McMillen!

Congratulations to Rebecca McMillen, Assistant Professor for Art, Design & Creative Innovation, who has been selected to participate in the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC) seminar on Art and Society in Britain, Hogarth to Turner (1730-1851). CIC states, “This week-long seminar offers a new account of significant developments in British art from Georgian London in the age of William Hogarth, who came to prominence in the 1730s, to the death of J. M. W. Turner in 1851, the year of the Great Exhibition. Drawing upon innovative historical analyses, the seminar sets artistic production within a cultural and historical framework and places British art in a global context, emphasizing questions of race and empire.” Rebecca will attend the seminar at the Yale Center for British Art in New Haven, Connecticut in July. Please join me in congratulating Rebecca!
