Introducing Maria Soria

Maria Soria, Ph.D., joins the biology faculty this fall as assistant professor of biology. She was awarded her doctorate in Medical Biophysics from University of Southern California this past spring. Her doctoral research was about proteins that form fibers in neurons, which may have implications for Alzheimer’s disease. This year, she will be teaching several upper level biology and chemistry courses. Maria lives in southeast Fresno with her husband, Andrew, and two cats. She attends Faith Community Church of the Nazarene in Clovis, and enjoys spending time outdoors. She hopes to visit every US National Park in her lifetime.
