Nursing Welcomes Rox Ann Sparks

The Nursing Department is happy to welcome Rox Ann Sparks, DNP, as full-time faculty in nursing. Rox Ann, originally from Kentucky, brings 45 years of nursing experience – 17 as a licensed practical nurse and 28 as a registered nurse, most of which was spent working in busy emergency rooms. A seasoned educator, Rox Ann also brings 28 years of teaching experience in nursing. Rox Ann holds a BSN from Excelsior College in New York, a MSN from Walden University in Minnesota, and a DNP with an emphasis in Informatics and Education, also from Walden University. Rox Ann has taught adjunctly with FPU for the last 4 years and will continue teaching in both the RN to BSN and in the MSN/FNP programs. She has assumed the role of Program Director for the RN to BSN program and has great plans to help it to grow and thrive.  Rox Ann has a genuine passion for nursing education. When she is not teaching, she enjoys gardening, spending time with her grandchildren, reading, quilting, crocheting, embroidery, canning, and cheering for the Kentucky Wildcats! Please join me in welcoming Rox Ann Sparks to the FPU family.
