The Great ShakeOut

Fresno Pacific University’s Emergency Management Team is helping to facilitate a nation-wide earthquake drill known as “The Great ShakeOut.” FPU’s drill will be taking place on Thursday, January 23, at 10:00 a.m. on the main campus (date and time will be scheduled for our regional campuses). For those of you who will be in class or work during that time, we ask that you utilize the resources found at this website: https://www.shakeout.org/colleges/

Five minutes prior to the start of the drill (9:55 a.m.), faculty should walk their students through the provided powerpoint presentation. Then at the start of the drill, an emergency notification will be sent out to all students, staff and faculty notifying them that the drill has begun. At this point, everyone will “drop, cover, and hold on”. Another emergency notification will then be sent out indicating that the drill is complete, and everyone can resume normal activities.

Please feel free to contact either myself (mandie.wall@fresno.edu or ext 5696) or Sean Bradbury (sean.bradbury@fresno.edu) should you have any questions.
