Book Publication Celebration: LAURA SCHMIDT ROBERTS

Join us at Hiebert Library to celebrate with Laura Schmidt Roberts, Ph.D. (Professor of Biblical and Theological Studies at Fresno Pacific University) the publication of her book, Recovering from the Anabaptist Vision: New Essays in Identity and Theological Method.

This collection of essays performs a critical reconstruction of Anabaptist identity and theological method, in the wake of revelations of the depth of the sexual abuse perpetrated by the most influential Anabaptist theologian of the 20th century, John Howard Yoder. In an attempt to liberate Anabaptist theology and identity from the constricting vision appropriated and reformulated by Yoder, these essays refuse the determinative categories of the last half century supplied by and carried beyond Harold Bender's The Anabaptist Vision.

The FPU Bookshop will have a limited number of copies available for purchase and signing. This will take place in Hiebert Library’s Fireplace Lounge, Thursday, March 26, at 3:30 p.m.
