Changes to Automatic Email Forwarding Functionality in Office 365

Starting on July 31, all users at the university will no longer be able to automatically forward their FPU email to personal email addresses. This policy will protect the best interests of every person at the university in two ways. Primarily, when university emails are automatically forwarded to a personal email address, it is possible for private or confidential information to accidentally leak to outside sources. Additionally, there have been many instances of people missing essential emails from the university due to the forwarding feature. As a result, this has been a source of great frustration and confusion for some users. For these reasons, we are implementing this policy for all our users and their privacy. Therefore, this feature will no longer be available at the university after July 31. We apologize if this inconveniences you in any way, but we appreciate your patience and understanding.  

Due to the policy change, we recommend all users check their FPU email every day. You can do this by going to in your preferred web browser or by downloading the Outlook app on your smartphone device or personal computer.
