The Mystery Sunbird is... 10/20

If you read the Tuesday, October 20, “Who’s That Sunbird?” edition in Squawk Box, then you would have been able to guess who this week’s mystery Sunbird is. If you guessed, Ken Friesen, then you guessed correctly! Ken has been with the university for 18 years and currently serves as an associate professor for global studies in the School of HRSS. As you can see in the picture, Ken enjoys doing handstands at random places in different countries when abroad. Before becoming a Sunbird, Ken worked for the Mennonite Central Committee. His all-time favorite movie is King Corn and his favorite at home activity has been biking in place. Growing up, Ken spent his childhood living in India. You’ll have to ask him what his favorite memories were there on your next Zoom or Teams call! Currently, Ken has been excited to be working on adding eight solar panels to his house and a solar water heater.

Thank you, Ken, for participating in this week’s “Who’s That Sunbird?”.

Also, a thank you to our employees who submitted their guesses!
