Regional Service Project Opportunity

As we think about our community and the five goals of FPU (GEIST), the regional team has decided to focus on the "S - Serving Courageously” during this holiday season. With the current situation limiting actual human contact, we will be focusing on a project that could serve a portion of our community that may find themselves alone during the holidays: hospitalized veterans and those living in the residential area of the Fresno VA hospital, as well as the Veteran's Home of California - Fresno. The total capacity is approximately 400-500 beds, and we want to send them Christmas cards, notes and/or letters of encouragement and hope.

Would you consider helping us reach, or surpass, our goal of 500 cards to deliver? They will be delivered through a drive-up process and the hospital and residence staff will deliver the cards by placing them on their meal trays during the week of Christmas. This is a project that you could include your neighbors, family, children and grandchildren in; my first two cards collected were made by two of my grandchildren (ages two and four)! What a great way to talk to them about serving others, especially during this time. Please see the flyer for additional details and feel free to reach out if you have any questions. Thank you in advance!
