Biblical & Religious Studies Division Announces a New Hire

The faculty of the Biblical and Religious Studies Division are delighted to announce the hire of Amy Whisenand, Th.D., to the role of assistant professor and assistant program director of biblical & theological studies! Amy comes to FPU from North Carolina, having recently completed her Doctor of Theology (Th.D.) at Duke Divinity School at Duke University. Amy's research has focused especially on the book of Colossians where she has explored the intersections of biblical studies, ethnomusicology, theology, and ethics. She brings teaching experience not only within academic classrooms but also ecclesial ones as she has engaged learners in church adult education programs.

In her new role at FPU, Amy will be working largely with the biblical & theological studies program (especially "Jesus & the Christian Community" and Biblical Perspectives courses) in Degree Completion while sharing other aspects of program administration with Melly Howard, Ph.D., who will continue in her role as program director.

Please join us in giving a warm, Sunbird welcome to Amy Whisenand!
