Senior Professionals Seminar-Marjorie Gerbrandt Wiens

Senior Professionals Seminar with Marjorie Gerbrandt Wiens: "Why a Physician? What is a Calling?"  Tuesday, February 25. 2:30-4:30 p.m. in the Pioneer/Johanson Conference Room, Steinert Campus Center 103.  FPU faculty and administration are invited to attend.
Marjorie Gerbrandt Wiens grew up in multi-cultural settings as the daughter of Mennonite Brethren pastoral-missionary parents. She earned her bachelor’s degree at Tabor College, after which she pursued further studies at Kansas University Medical School. During her residency in Internal Medicine, she was offered a Fellowship in Cardiology leading to a career combining both practice and teaching, as a Fresno-based Associate clinical professor with the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine--no $$, just titles!. For the last ten years prior to retirement in 2001, she chose to join The Permanente Medical Group as a staff physician working at the Fresno Kaiser Medical Center. In this session, as she succinctly states, she will share what she has learned along the way.
