Staff Executive Nominations

Calling all staff! It’s time to start thinking about nominating your colleagues to serve on Staff Executive. We will have five open positions to fill in May. Start thinking about it now, as nominations aren't open just yet. Nominations will open on April 8 and are due to Lisa Alvey, via email, by April 22. At staff caucus on Wednesday, April 30 we will invite those that have accepted nominations to speak as to why they are interested in running for office. Elections will be held via an online survey tool the week of May 5 – 9.
Here are the positions and their descriptions:1. Vice President - The Vice President shall attend all Staff Executive and Staff Caucus meetings and take over the President’s duties in his/her absence, with voting rights as applicable. The Vice President shall serve as chair of the Personnel Committee. The Vice President shall be responsible for conducting any Staff Caucus or Staff Executive elections. The Vice President shall serve a 2-year term on a staggered election basis with the President position.
 2. Faculty Senate/Budget Advisory Representative: he Faculty Senate/Budget Advisory Representative shall attend Faculty Senate meetings when agenda items that directly affect staff are being discussed. The Faculty Senate/Budget Advisory Representative shall also serve as a member of the Budget Advisory Committee. The Faculty Senate/Budget Advisory Representative shall report to Staff Executive as to issues directly involving Staff Caucus, and report to Staff Caucus as deemed necessary by the Staff Executive. The Faculty Senate/Budget Advisory Representative shall serve a 2-year term on a staggered election basis with the Secretary position.
 3. Social Committee Representative: The two Social Committee Representatives shall attend Social Committee meetings and assist committee members in preparing organized staff/faculty breaks and occasional staff/faculty/administration social functions. The Social Committee Representatives shall order refreshments for Staff Caucus events. The terms of service shall be 2 years on a staggered election basis. (One position open.)
4. Personnel Committee Representative: The Personnel Committee Representatives shall attend Staff Personnel Committee meetings and assist in advising the Director of Human Resources on general staff matters and personnel policies, collaborating in development and review of personnel policies and reviewing policy and procedural concerns. The Vice President shall serve as chair of the committee. The terms of service shall be 2 years on a staggered election basis. (One position open.)
5. Regional Center Representative: The Regional Center Representative shall serve as a liaison between Staff Executive and staff working in all regional centers. The Regional Center Representative shall report to Staff Executive as to regional center issues directly involving Staff Caucus, and report to Staff Caucus as deemed necessary by the Staff Executive. The Regional Center Representative shall serve a 2-year term on a staggered election basis with the Secretary position.
